Kenapa rasa itu harus ada
menggapai dan menyerang hati
tak tertolak... namun tak tergapai
Membuat diri terdiam menderita

Diri berganti bertanya...

Earth Day... can we make some contribution?

Assalamu'alaikum

Today is 22nd April... and it's known as Earth Day... and what is Earth day actually and who or maybe what the first one initiated to celebrate this day? Here what I found in wikipedia "Earth Day is a name used for two different observances, both held annually during spring in the  northern hemisphere, and autumn in the southern hemisphere. These are intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the Earth's environment. The United Nations celebrates an Earth Day each year on the March equinox, a tradition which was founded by peace activist John McConnell in 1969. A second Earth Day, which was founded by US politician Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in in the late 1960s, is celebrated in many countries each year on April 22."
Talking about earth... there a lot of things that people can discuss about it.. start from how is it nowadays... or what's wrong with the environment... till how can earth get angry cos a lot of disaster come... Now the question is how can we make some positive contribution... to make world or earth can be better or maybe just how we can celebrate this day... that can make it some contribution. So...here are some tips which I read on several web... to celebrate earth day... just simple things... no need much effort... but still great things to do

1.  Reduce, reuse and recycle all day long.

Just an example, you can reuse you plastic bag after you go for shopping, don't throw it away... just keep it on your bag or your vehicles. So you can use it on other time. Or just give to the other, stuff which you didn't need anymore such as furnitures, dishes, bikes, or electronics.

2.  Plant trees or flowers
Planting trees helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, clean pollution, secure soil in place to prevent erosion, and provide homes for a lot of biodiversity.

3. Ride your bike or take public transportation

Use your bicycle or other forms of human powered transportation to commute to work or school and to run errands. Taking the bus, the train, the subway or other forms of public transportation lessens the load on the roads and reduces one's individual greenhouse gas emissions (an average of 1600 pounds of GHG emissions per year can be saved; US EPA). I know... it's a little bit difficult in most city... but still can try it...

4.  Unplug unused electronics

Even when electronic devices are turned off, they use energy. Save over 1,000 lbs of carbon dioxide and US$256 per year by unplugging them. (The photograph was imported from Flickr. It was originally taken by Flickr user  julianrod and  the original photo can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/17513020@N00 /164361419)

5.
The latest movement is to use more tap water and to cease usage of bottled water. Why? Well, it helps to stop making water a commodity beyond paying for it to reach your home. It stops chemicals leaching from the plastic into the water and then being ingested by you. It also helps to reduce all the haulage costs (energy and financial wise) involved in carting water around in this way. And most of all, it encourages a return to provision of good quality water services from our municipal/local water providers through community-wide expectations. (from CBC story on David Suzuki)

So... what else we are waiting for... start today.. start from little thing... and start from ourselves...

Weekend.. ooh.. weekend..

Assalamu'alaikum

Already weekend.. and almost the end of weekend.... last week when just started to work, I made plan that I will make a free weekend a.k.a relaxing weekend on this weekend... but... everything was being the other way around... this weekend is just the same as last weekend and other weekend ago... busy... and busy... just different on what I did...

I also made plan that I won't do some lab work on weekend... cos I think I was cursed with my weekend's lab work . I was failed or got bad results everytime I did some work on the weekend... it was just not for twice or three times... but almost for all lab work ... even though... last month I got nice result .

And now... I have to back to my lab to do some stuff... yah... what can I say... if I want some succeed and everything goes well, I have to work hard... nothing will come nicely so directly to you without any effort or maybe if you have luck then it will
. So... let's back to work... Amy1 and Amy2 -my enzymes which I work with-... here I comes...

Love... why??

Assalamu'alaikum

Maybe... one or more of you will ask... why I put that as my title in this time... why suddenly I write that thing? First... I think this one is really famous thing in this whole world... and always being one of topic in almost aspect from science into entertainment... from children into adult... from a to z. Second.... I don't know what I have to say.... is it what I feel.. or maybe it's just a wrong feeling so confusing if it's untrue... how can it be.... meanwhile surrounding me.... what I know now... few of them have problem with what called as love too....

I don't know why.... why love is so.... so.... amazing... and has great power, or is it? ... just what I know... it can drive people crazy... it even can hold bomb for exploding... love can make people feel sad and happy in the same time.... how can it make people feel that way??? love can be so sweet on the other hand love can be so painful... just keep wondering what does it have inside....

And what is love? here what I found in wikipedia "The word love has many different meanings in English, from something that gives a little pleasure ("I loved that meal") to something one would die for (ideals, family). It can describe an intense feeling of affection, an emotion or an emotional state. In ordinary use, it usually refers to interpersonal love. Probably due to its psychological relevance, love is one of the most common themes in art and music.

Throughout history, phylosophy and religion have done the most speculation on the phenomenon of love. In the last century, the science of psychology has written a great deal on the subject. In recent years, the sciences of evolutionary psychology, evolutionary biology, anthropology, neuroscience, and biology have added to the understanding of the nature and function of love."

There are also many views about love if you search on what it means... but till now... even though there are so many thing which can describe it... I'm still unsure with what love is... is it as same as with L.O.V.E which sang by Nat King Cole? do I really have it once and not just a game ?... and another thing is I don't know does it have mean to its belongs???
this is for my people who feel it...

With 'Touch My Body,' 18 th No. 1 singles in Billboard chart

HISTORIC NEW BILLBOARD HOT 100 SINGLES CHART RECORD - SURPASSES ELVIS PRESLEY's 17 #1's - FIRST HIT FROM NEW ALBUM, E=MC2
Touch1
Mariah  reaches a once-in-a-lifetime career achievement as her current single "Touch My Body" goes to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week and becomes her 18th career #1 hit - surpassing one of the most enduring chart records in Billboard Hot 100 history, Elvis Presley's 17 #1's. Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 50 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles' all-time high of 20 #1 hits.

"Touch My Body" takes over #1 on Billboard's Hot Digital Songs chart (issue date: April 12, 2008) with a record-breaking total of 285,544 downloads this week. 921 downloads were made before midnight last week, bringing the song's total downloads tally to 286,465 and a Hot 100 Airplay radio audience now over 115 million.

This is not only Mariah's best digital sales week, but the best debut-week of digital sales by any artist. Rihanna's "Umbrella" held the previous record with sales of 277,000.The video, directed by feature filmmaker Brett Ratner, and featuring a cameo by Jack McBrayer (30 Rock's Kenneth Parcell), stays at #1 on the Yahoo Music Video Chart, Yahoo Launchcast and AOL. And Mariah's widget has been viewed over 4.26 million times!

"Touch My Body" is the first smash from Mariah's highly anticipated hot new album E=MC2, arriving in stores April 15th. Pre-orders are now underway for E=MC2, with iTunes customers receiving "Touch My Body" instantly with their pre-order.

"Touch My Body" was produced by Mariah Carey, C. "Tricky" Stewart, and fellow Island Def Jam artist The-Dream. Other guest producers joining Mariah on E=MC2 include Jermaine Dupri, DJ Toomp, Stargate, Will I Am, Bryan Michael Cox, Nate "Danjahandz" Hills and James Poyser. The album is executive produced by Mariah Carey and Antonio "LA" Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group.

The 11th studio album of her career, E=MC2 follows-up The Emancipation Of Mimi, Mariah's worldwide 10 million selling #1 album, which generated three Grammy awards (including Best Contemporary R&B Album), two #1 singles, and countless more honors during its 18-month stay on the charts. Released April 12, 2005, Mimi was an industry phenomenon for the mega-platinum award-winning superstar. Soundscan's biggest-selling album of the year, it brought total sales of Mariah's albums, singles and videos to over 160 million worldwide, making her the top-selling female recording artist in history. Mimi featured "We Belong Together" (Grammy winner for Best Female R&B Vocal and Best R&B Song) and "Don't Forget About Us," Mariah's 16th and 17th #1 singles respectively - which tied Elvis Presley's 17 #1's. "Touch My Body" now surpasses Elvis as Mariah's 18th #1 hit, and positions her as the only active recording artist with the potential to surpass the Beatles' all-time high of 20 #1 hits. "Touch My Body" also marks Mariah's 78th cumulative career week at #1, as she closes the gap on Elvis Presley's all-time high record of 80 weeks at #1.

My Lovely (??) Money..... My Poor Money...

Assalamu'alaikum
Today... after worked in the lab... and before back home... I just surfed around internet and then I found one slideshow which showed the world's most worthless money... How come these money become worthless and what make those worthless? From I got on this site... criteria which make those in this list are... Inflation in their country compare to worldwide inflation and its value based on US dollar... So... these are the world's most worthless money:
  1. Zimbabwe. As Americans worry about the rate of inflation exceeding 4 percent, we should consider Zimbabwe, where the inflation rate broke the shocking 100,000 percent mark and the country released a 10 million-dollar note (now valued below $4 on the black market). But Zimbabwe's currency is hardly the only one inflated beyond reason. —George Quraishi
  2. Dong Vietnam. 500,000-dong note. U.S. value: $31.37. An early-1980s U.S. embargo hobbled exports, leading to price controls and the printing of excess currency.
  3. Rupiah Indonesia. 100,000-rupiah note. U.S. value: $11.05. During the 1997 Asian financial crisis, the rupiah lost 80 percent of its value within months, sparking riots in Jakarta (and soon ending President Suharto's 32-year rule).
  4. Rial Iran. 50,000-rial note. U.S. value: $5.35. Since the 1979 revolution, Iran's inflation rate has hovered around 15 percent, thanks in part to ever-rising oil prices.
  5. Dorba Sao Tome. 50,000-dobra note. U.S. value: $3.47. This African island nation's economy is tied to the volatile price of its chief export, cocoa, and is measured against its trading partners' robust euro.
  6. Franc Guinea. 10,000-franc note. U.S. value: $2.33. In 2002, the mineral-rich African country refused to implement reforms mandated by the International Monetary Fund; foreign cash dried up, and the central bank printed too much money.
