End of January

Assalamu'alaikum

Can't imagined... now we are just in the end of January... the first month of 2008. But there are quite a lot of things were happened in this world lately, and most of them... which I heard were sad things... when happened this last week.

I don't remember all the things... and maybe I will just write down what are still clear in my mind. First, it was considering about my religion thing (Islam). There was someone tried to show (almost all of those were not true) what my religion looked like, some kind of brutality thing, intolerance and he made a movie about it. As moslem, I was really sad and angry when I heard about it... cos... why there is still people... only judge from one side... they didn't look at the other side, even didn't want to see it... cos they think it was just only small part... but it was untrue. And for this thing... we are as moslem... have to be more careful how to respond it... we have to think with clear head... cos we don't want to be as he suggested.

Second, I heard from my collega, one of Hollywood's actor was found dead in his appartment on that morning... and he was Heath Ledger, the one who played as Joker on Batman's new movie, the Dark Knight... it's a little bit surprised news... cos actually I'm really... really waiting for that batman's movie... I'm a bit curious about how it will be... cos the first one... it's quite full of drama and less action (but I don't mind)

Third, it was happen on 27 of January.... our ex-president (Indonesia), Soeharto passed away... but... for this one... I wasn't too shocked (I'm so sorry if I had to tell like this... but what should I do... cos this was what I felt). Why I wasn't that shocked... cos... actually he was in not good condition, there was heart, kidney, and anything else problem with him, and the other was... he went to hospital couple times almost the rest of his life since he was not as president.

And the other was of course about the weather... so much grey... and today (Thursday, 31.01.2008)... there will be a storm which was predicted by KNMI (Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute) yesterday... so... now almost complete... with some... bad news...

I wish we will have good news... and more good news for next months. aaamiiinnn

Is it winter or not? ;p

Assalamu'alaikum

It's almost half way of winter season... but I found there's just twice snowfall in here, in Groningen... and rest of all time, it seems as in autumn, no leaves in trees left... very plain but cold, grey (a lot of clouds), and many times was raining.... Is it characteristic winter time in Groningen?

I knew a little bit about winter time in Groningen, but I really didn't expect like this... cos some of my friends told me... seems like this winter time in Groningen... but come on.. can it make exception for me... there will be a lot of snow for maybe the rest of winter time.... ^_^

Yesterday... it was... if I can't say it was bad day... it was a little bit nice day... just little bit windy in the morning... and in the afternoon there was sun shining. But I didn't know why... then in the evening.. (I came home a little bit late)... it was raining... oh Gosh... why.. why.. I thought it would be nice in the evening cos I just saw less clouds on the sky... but... I was wrong... completely wrong... so I was just biking through the rain with umbrella in my hand... and thankfully... there was no wind until close to city center. From city center to my place there was wind... I think I was not a good friend with wind ^_*

Also in yesterday, I don't know why but it just made me feel so lazy... I mean I didn't wanna do anything... even did something for my experiment... so for almost whole day I just did three experiments... and two of them were failed :(

Was that effect of the weather? maybe it was... cos I heard a lot of story like this... when it's grey... no sunshine.. people can get depressed easily... and it happens in almost whole part of Scandinavian countries.

But... we can through it... if we think we can through it... so just don't let it makes you down... and be strong... ^_^

Black out... alias mati lampu

Today.. maybe I will tell something in my own language which is Bahasa... cos I will tell about what's happening on this day in my lab building... ^_^ but maybe you can get idea from the title... so the story begins...

Tadi pagi seperti biasanya pergi ke kantor tapi.. ga biasanya sih, soalnya agak telat 15 menit dari jadwal seharusnya yang kalau masuk min. jam 9. Setelah nyampe... ya siap2 seperti nyiapin buku catetan untuk kerja, nghidupin komputer, cek2 peralatan tulis, liat to do list, n merkirain waktu yang efisien buat kerjaan di lab. Akhirnya, masuk lab juga sktr j stgh 10 kurang... dan di sana udah ada dua orang yang kerja... yang satu, seperti biasanya... teknisi yang sangat rajin banget (karena selalu dateng sebelum jam 8 dan pulang lebih dari jam 6 malem), yang satu lagi Post Doc yang baru mulai... tapi termasuk orang lama, soalnya dia ngambil program doktor di tempat ini juga, dan masih sama labnya.

Setelah sedikit ber-hai.. hai.. mulai deh kerja... dari yg bikin gel untuk elektroforesis, trus murniin fragmen dari gel.. etc... nah setelah ampir jam stgh satu... saat nimbang2 untuk uji aktivitas... dan pas banget di labu terakhir... tiba-tiba... byar...pet..byar pet.... walah... mati lampu... kaget juga sih... tapi masih di tempat itu... ngiranya ga bakalan lama... tapi stlh beberapa saat... ko ga nyala2 ya, ya akhirnya dari ruang zat ke ruang tempat kolega2 kerja... soalnya ruang tempat zat ga ada jendela, jadi gelap banget...

Eh belum berapa lama di situ... tiba-tiba Asisten Prof dari grup besar ku teriak (ga teriak banget sih... cuma agak kencengan dikit)... ayo semua keluar... keluar... itu ada bunyi alarm... itu tanda emergency...

Rasanya sih sedikit ga percaya, abis suara alarmnya ga seperti yang biasa tiap awal bulan jadiin latian... ya akhirnya ngikut aja deh... eh... nyampe di luar lab (baru di koridor) orang2 pada nyante2 aja.. cuma si Ibu satu itu aja yang sibuk... mo evakuasi. Akhirnya ya pada nyante2 aja.. la wong yang bunyi itu freezer -80 derajat... gimana sih si Ibu itu... udah lama kerja di sini ko ga tau... bikin malu aja...

Akhirnya setelah kurang lebih 15-20 menit... nyala lagi... cuma ga tau permasalahannya kenapa ampe mati lampu...

Wah..wah.. merasakan juga keadaan mati lampu di negara cukup maju... walau ga lama sih.. tapi mati lampu sih tetep mati lampu ya ga... walau mo dibilang kejadian yang amat jarang terjadi. Lucu juga jadinya kalau diinget2 saat2 mati lampu di lab... kerasanya biasa aja... eh ko di sini ada juga orang yang menganggap sangat2 emergency ^_^
Tapi mungkin ada benernya juga sih... waspada...

So... mati lampu.. bisa juga ko di negara maju ;p         

Start to Work

Assalamu'alaikum

Today was the first day for me to go to work after had holiday for two weeks. It feels so hard... to start and to go to work... but I have to.. if I wanna succes one day. So, even though this morning... I just woke up with lazyness... I can be cheer up... and meet my colleagues for maybe not only in couple months ;)

Today... I just started with smile on my face... cos I had nice time on my vacation... and I didn't have anything left behind... so face new work day ^_^ Lets' start to do some research again... wish me luck... and wish everything will go well... aaamiiiinn....

Back to Groningen

Hi... hi... how's the day?
I just back to Groningen about 3 in the morning after several days took my vacation to another country... I was really enjoyed my vacation there... I visited many places for 5 days... and I missed it already ;p but what can I do... I have to back to my world... back to work...

So about my trips... I will tell you later... maybe this afternoon... or maybe it will take another day... and I just can't wait to share what I've done there... so... cu in another posting..
